Trauma Healing
Psychological trauma is a response to an event that a person perceives as extremely stressful. War situations, natural disasters, accidents but also toxic relationships or going through symptoms of some diseases. Trauma can cause a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms. Not everyone who experiences a stressful event will develop trauma. There are also different types of trauma. Some people will develop symptoms that resolve after a few weeks, while others will have long-term effects.
This course is aimed at those who have suffered trauma or shock. It provides support and counseling in people’s journey to healing.
Our method is not complex. We gather a group of people who can help each other in the healing process. It is a holistic approach that recognizes that trauma affects every part of a person: mind, body and spirit. Lessons continue stories, art, activities and questions to help people engage deeply with themselves and each other.

Doula
“Doula” is a word that comes from ancient Greek and means “a woman who serves”.
A doula is a companion who has gone through specialized training in helping a woman before, during and after birth. A doula provides support and mediation between them and the maternity staff.
The doula does not replace a woman’s partner, but she is even a support for him, if he is present during labor and birth. She works with a woman’s partner to help her have the best birth experience possible.
It is important to be a good listener, offering respect, understanding and knowing the boundaries between their skills and what is provided by the medical staff.
Doulas have no medical training and it is not part of their role to intervene medically. They really focus on preparing families for the birth process long before labor begins. They may or may not join families at birth, so their job is to educate families about the physiological and medical processes that will take place. Many hospitals and birthing centers accept them. They can also be especially helpful during home births; they can prepare the space, make sure everything is ready, and help older children understand the birth and labor process.
In this course, we outline the roles of a doula during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period to provide the training you need. We will deepen anatomical-biological, medical, psychological and communication information.
